Clinical Consultation

Clinical consultation for clinicians and supervisors

I offer clinical consultation to therapists, supervisors, and training programs seeking deeper understanding of how racial trauma and other forms of oppression manifest in clinical work.

What consultation offers

This consultation supports clinicians in integrating psychological, relational, embodied, and sociopolitical dimensions of client experience, rather than treating race, power, and oppression as secondary or supplemental considerations.

Consultation provides space to explore clinical material with attention to countertransference, internalized oppression, survival strategies, identity-based stress, and meaning-making. Together, we examine how broader systems of power shape intrapsychic experience and therapeutic relationships, and how clinicians can respond with greater attunement, ethical clarity, and sustainability.

Formats may include

Case-based consultation (individual or group), with focused attention to clinical process, relational dynamics, and sociopolitical context

Ongoing consultation groups for clinicians or supervisors seeking sustained reflective support

Short-term consultation series organized around a specific clinical question or population

Two consultation groups for Black women and women of color therapists begin in January 2027

DO YOUR WORK and the Self-Reflection Consultation Group offer ongoing consultation in a group setting, which is where many therapists find the most support.

Questions about consultation

Is consultation the same as supervision?

Consultation is a collaborative space to think about your clinical work. Licensure supervision has its own requirements in each state, so if you are hoping to count our meetings toward licensure hours, we can talk about that before we begin.

Who is consultation for?

Therapists, supervisors, and training programs at any stage of practice who want to think more deeply about how racial trauma, oppression, and power show up in their clinical work.

Do we talk about my cases, or about me?

Both. We usually begin with clinical material and pay attention to what the work stirs in you, since your own responses are part of the clinical picture.

How is client privacy protected?

We discuss clinical material without identifying information.
