Intensives and Retreats

Intensives and retreats · For therapists and high achieving women

Beyond Survival

the work of becoming

The ways we learned to survive may have made our lives possible. Over time, those same ways of being can keep organizing a life that has grown much larger than surviving.

for you

For therapists and high achieving women who have spent years holding everything together

It is time to turn toward your own life with the same depth and care you so often give everyone else. Beyond Survival comes in two forms.

The Work Beneath the Work

Concentrated, personalized psychodynamic work on one internalized belief, conflict, or relational pattern you are ready to understand more deeply. About three hours of focused work, with an assessment conversation before we begin and an integration session afterward. Virtual, for people located in Illinois, Connecticut, or New York.

Beyond Survival

An immersive relational experience exploring what it means to make room for desire, pleasure, freedom, connection, and a life beyond constant responsibility. Two or three days, informed by group psychotherapy, with time for reflection, embodiment, pleasure, and rest. Separate cohorts for therapists and for high achieving women.

a note from me

LaTasha Smith, PhD, LCSW, CGP

I am a psychotherapist and certified group psychotherapist, and for twenty years I have sat with people as they make sense of what they have carried and what they want for their lives. Many of the women I work with are the strong friend, the one everyone leans on, who rarely feels held herself.

My work offers a space to explore who they are beyond what others need from them, to question the expectations they've learned to live by, and to consider what it might mean to build a life that makes room for their own needs, relationships, desires, and possibilities.
